The City of Ottawa and the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) both have agreements with Pinerest Residence to provide supportive housing for people who are not able to live independently and require supports within their housing. The City subsidizes residents under the Residential Services Home program and MOHLTC under the Homes for Special Care (HSC) program. The home currently has 25 residents, 20 with the HSC program and five with the City subsidized program. The MOHLTC has decided not to renew the Homes for Special Care (HSC) operating license at Pinerest Residence and the City has additionally provided notice to end its agreement. The notification occurred today, May 1st and all residents are being relocated to alternate homes, which have been confirmed.
